If you are an artist or student wanting to explore and understand the possibilities that welding can bring to art, this introductory course will help in developing your skills. The course starts with a short talk showing a range of artists work where welding is an important part of the process. Explanations and demonstrations of Stick and MIG welding machines will take place over the period of the course with students having hands-on experience with the equipment. Basic materials will be provided. At the end of the course the student should have a good understanding and practical knowledge based around making art with welding. Please note that this course will not cover large-scale sculptural pieces.
