Graham Hudson

When Chelsea College of Art and Design opened at its new site in 2005 at the old barracks on Millbank, ambitious plans for the development of the Parade Ground had to be put on hold while funding and archeological issues were resolved. The once barricaded ground was opened up to the public, and we considered the immediate future of the ground.

One door shuts and another opens, as we realised we had the potential to host artist projects in the space. Following Gerrard Wilson's (Head of Sculpture) idea, and the application work of Dr. Susan Lesser (Associate at the University of the Arts London) A succesful bid was made to the Henry Moore Foundation for the artist Graham Hudson to work here for six months as our artist in residence.

Graham began work at Chelsea in March, and in earnest on the public space in April 2006, as well as the constant production on the ground, the Chelsea website is hosting images and texts by guest writers invited by Graham, to tell a changing perspective story of the site.

Enjoy!
